Bicycle tours: Limburg

Did you know that the clever cycle route network where you cycle from junction to junction is a Limburg invention? 2000 km of metalled, safe and mostly car-free cycle paths.
And the well-known blue signs along the route ensure that you don’t get lost. It's just relaxed cycling!

Program

Day 1 - Cycling through water
'Cycling through Water' in Bokrijk is a unique cycling experience in which you cycle more than 200 meters through a pond.
The cycle path takes you through the pond from one bank to the other. And at one point you cycle with the surface of the water at eye level on both sides. That's fun!

Day 2 - Cycling through the trees
Cycling through a forest environment is a special experience for the senses. This cycle path safely takes you into higher realms.
Quite literally - because you cycle around a double circle up to a height of 10 metres between the trees. You can see, feel and smell nature’s splendour.

Day 3 - Cycling through the heathland in Hoge Kempen National Park
On top of the bridge you have a wide view over the Hoge Kempen National Park.
See horses grazing in the distance and spot many other animal species that live in the Park. A unique experience in an extraordinary nature reserve.
Like a pier on the coast, the elongated structure of the bicycle bridge is a beacon in the landscape.

Day 4 - Maastricht (NL)
Relax and enjoy life in the southernmost province of the Netherlands.
Experience its warm hospitality, be surprised by its culture, and delight in its extraordinary natural beauty. An unforgettable experience guaranteed!

Day 5 - Wine Castle Genoelselderen
Between Tongeren and Maastricht, along the old Roman roads, lies the only wine castle of Belgium.
This is not by accident, as the Romans had already vineyards in this area some 2000 years prior.
In 1990 the family van Rennes renewed the centuries old wine culture in the area.
The Wine Castle of Genoels-Elderen is with its 25 hectares of vineyards, the largest wine domain in the country.

Bruges and Ghent

The art cities from a different perspective.

Zeeland

The land in the sea.

North Brabant and Gelderland

Fortified cities on the banks of the Dutch rivers.
